Day-1 Colombo – Kandy
Your amazing Srilanka Holiday Tour Package starts today.
On arrival at Colombo International airport, meet and greet by tour representative and transfer to Kandy. Enroot Visit Pinnawela elephant orphanage (Entry Ticket Not Included). The Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage is one of Sri Lanka’s most popular tourist attractions. The orphanages population has now mushroomed to around 65, making it the world’s largest collection of captive elephants. Proceed to Kandy, check-in the hotel. Enjoy Kandy city tour, Visit Kandy Temple of the Tooth. According to legend, the tooth was taken from the Buddha as he lay on his funeral pyre. It was smuggled to Sri Lanka in 313 AD, hidden in the hair of Princess Hemamali who fled the Hindu armies besieging her father's kingdom in India. When the capital was moved to Kandy, the tooth was taken to the new city and placed in temples built to honor it. Witness Kandyan dance performance in the evening. The Kandyan dance has become most distinctively Sinhalese and is readily associated with the idea of a National Dance. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Yala National Park Sri Lanka’s most known National Park is popular for Elephant, Leopard, Bear, Crocodile and Wild Boar. 97,800 hectares in extent, this is the second largest of Sri Lanka’s National Parks. Its open undulating terrain made it famous for elephants for many years, but recently the park has also received much fame through publicity by National Geographic and the Discovery TV channels, which focused on a leopard research/conservation and identification project. Claims have subsequently been made that Yala National Park has the world’s highest concentration of leopard per square kilometer. Vegetation is primarily grassland and shrub jungle with patches of dense growth while several salt and fresh water lagoons are a haven for a large variety of resident and migrant birds.
