Day-1 Arrival at Chandigarh - Shimla

A short hop into the hills

We meet you at Chandigarh Airport or Railway Station for the drive to Shimla — 110 km, about 3 hours, with a lunch stop en route (at your own expense). Check in with a welcome drink and take the evening at leisure, settling in with your first views of Shimla. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day-2 Shimla: Kufri & Shimla Local Sightseeing

Kufri's Himalayan zoo, then Shimla's colonial landmarks

After breakfast, head out for a half-day trip to Kufri, a hill station whose name comes from a local word for "lake." Its zoo houses antelope, wild cats and birds such as the Himalayan Monal, with views from Mahasu Peak and optional horse riding. Back in Shimla by evening, take in Scandal Point and the Ridge for Himalayan views, the statues of Indira Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi, Christ Church, the wooden crafts of Lakkar Bazaar, Gaiety Theatre and Mall Road. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day-3 Shimla to Manali: Enroute Kullu Emporium

Through Pandoh Dam to Kullu

After breakfast, check out and drive to Manali, passing Pandoh Dam, the Aut Tunnel and apple orchards, with a stop to browse the Kullu emporium. Check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Manali.

Day-4 Manali: Solang Valley & Vashisht Village

Snow-capped views at Solang Valley

After breakfast, head to Solang Valley for views of the snow-capped Himalayas and the Beas River, with meadows that carry snow for much of the year. It's the base for optional paragliding, biking and other adventure sports, plus a scenic cable car ride, all payable directly on the day. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day-5 Manali: Local Sightseeing & Mall Road

Hadimba Temple and Manali Nature Park

After breakfast, spend the day on Manali's sights: Hadimba Devi Temple (also known as Dhungri Temple), Manu Temple, the Tibetan Monastery, Van Vihar and Manali Nature Park, finishing with time to browse Mall Road. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Manali.

Day-6 Manali: Dalhousie

Onward to Dalhousie

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Dalhousie. Check in and spend the evening at leisure, taking in the quieter pace of this colonial-era hill town. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day-7 Dalhousie: Local Sightseeing - Khajjiar

Kala Top, Bakrota Hills and "Mini Switzerland"

After breakfast, spend the day on a full excursion to Kala Top, Bakrota Hills and Khajji Lake at Khajjiar, often called the "Mini Switzerland of India" for its meadow ringed by pine forest. Horse riding, paragliding and zorbing are available here at your own expense. Back in Dalhousie by evening, take a city and shopping tour past Panchpula, Subhash Baoli and the local church, with time to browse the shops. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day-8 Dalhousie To Amritsar

The Golden Temple and the Wagha Border

After breakfast, check out and drive to Amritsar. Check in, then head out to see the Golden Temple and take in the evening flag-lowering ceremony at the Wagha Border, along with the city's other local sights. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day-9 Amritsar To Chandigarh

Journey's end

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Chandigarh Airport or Railway Station, bringing the trip to a close.
