Overview
India's spiritual heartland spans two very different pilgrimage circuits. The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand covers four of Hinduism's most sacred shrines — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath — set high in the Garhwal Himalayas and reached via winding mountain roads and, for some shrines, a trek or pony ride. In Gujarat, the Dwarka-Somnath circuit connects two of the twelve Jyotirlingas: Somnath, repeatedly rebuilt after historical invasions and standing today on the Arabian Sea coast, and Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka, believed to be the ancient kingdom of Lord Krishna. Many of our Gujarat packages can be extended to include Gir National Park (India's only wild Asiatic lion sanctuary) and the beaches and Portuguese-era architecture of Diu.
